Engine
The new engine to the 2005 Audi A8 is a 6.0 liter W12 model that produces power up to 450 hp at an angular speed of 6200 rpm and torque of 428 lb ft at 4000 rpm, while the other engine is a 4.2 liter DOHC V8 version that delivers up to 330 hp at 6500 rpm and torque of 317 lb ft at 3500 rpm. The only available transmission to both the engines is a 6-speed automatic. With the W12 model, the A8 variant can achieve fuel economy of 15 and 21 mpg in the city and on the highway roads, whereas with the V8 engine, it can achieve 18 and 24 miles per gallon.
Dimensions
The 2005 Audi A8 is shorter by 5.1 inches in overall length and wheel base. The standard features equipped in the 2005 variant include a driver adjustable air suspension with four modes, head protecting curtain side air bags, front and rear side air bags, antiskid control, 18 and 19 inch alloy wheels, ABS, steering linked adaptive headlamps, traction control, DVD entertainment system, obstacle detection system and navigation system with voice activation.
